For the past 15 years, I’ve worked in the hospitality industry, an experience that has taught me a lot about people, problem-solving and working in a fast-paced environment. Over the years, I’ve developed strong communication and customer relationship skills, while also gaining experience with Excel and CRM systems to organise and manage information.

Working with data has always been something I’ve enjoyed, particularly finding patterns, understanding what the numbers are showing and using that information to solve problems. Although data hasn’t always been my main focus, it has gradually become an area that I’ve wanted to explore further.

I’m now making a career change into the world of data. I’m currently completing an intensive Data Technician Bootcamp, where I’m building my technical skills in Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python and Azure.

Alongside learning the technical side of data, I’m gaining practical experience in analysing and visualising information, turning raw data into something meaningful and easier to understand. It’s been a big learning curve, but it’s also been exciting to develop skills that build on the problem-solving and analytical experience I’ve gained throughout my career.

My goal is to start my career in the data industry, as a Data Analyst or Data Technician. I want to bring together the experience I’ve gained over the last 15 years with the new technical skills I’m developing.

I’m particularly interested in using data to uncover insights, answer questions and support better decision-making. I’m looking forward to gaining real-world experience, continuing to learn and developing into a confident and capable data professional.
